Kileyan on Mull of Oa – guided walks on Tuesday & Thursday mornings - Islay Woollen Mill, Bridgend (where the tweeds for many famous film sets have been woven)
- Tormisdale Crafts, by Portnahaven (Anne does hand spinning and Roy makes fabulous items out of wood and staghorn)
- Museum of Islay Life, Port Charlotte (definitely make time to stop here)
- Islay Natural History Centre in Port Charlotte – displays the island’s wildlife riches, from its underlying geology to its birds, butterflies, wildflowers and mammals. There are marine and freshwater aquariums and a touch tank where you can become closely acquainted with some of our local sea creatures.
- Distilleries – Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg, Bowmore, Kilchoman, Ardnahoe and Bunnahabhain, Caol Ila reopening soon are Port Ellen and underway is the new Farkin Distillery
- Batik Works, Islay House Square, Bridgend
- Islay Quilters Centre, Islay House Square, Bridgend (their work is simply exquisite!)
- Islay Ales, Islay House Square, Bridgend – microbrewery with a fantastic range of produce!
- Community Walled Garden, Islay House Square, (through the huge arch in the square then turn left and enter through a little door in the garden wall – just like The Secret Garden!)
- Islay Studios, Islay House Square, Bridgend
- Spirited Soaps, Main Street, Bowmore (Ailsa and Gemma make wonderful hand made soaps beautifully presented)
- Outback Art, Sanaigmore, Gruinart – paintings, sculpture, jewellery and fantastic coffee with home baking. Follow signs for Sanaigmore and take the turn at the red kiosk.
